Their goal was still the same from the previous website; to increase sales figures. This meant keeping the products the main focus whilst also adding a few new pages they wanted (Lookbook and Community Page). The minimum viable product for this project were their physical products they sell. The product page and shop page iterations got the vast majority of my attention early in the project and the other static pages were considered the design debt which I addressed once I felt confident with the MVP(s).
They provided me with some ideas from similar brands which they liked and tasked me with creating some high fidelity mockups. I listened to what they liked about certain websites and tried to create a design that was essentially a mashup off their favourite elements. They wanted minimal and basic links on the homepage but I still wanted to give the links some affordance so I added the unofficial link symbol; an underline.
This build took around 2 weeks to complete, starting from a blank canvas and the shop page iteration was the most time consuming. This was because I had to carefully make sure the product grids would respond and adapt to different screen sizes, with a particular focus on mobile as we identified from their analytics that was their customers most popular device.
Having Brett designing our website has been a massive game changer. Having the perfect website is 100% worth the money he is offering. Brett is very committed to solving every issue and to help in anyway. The fact that all our issues got solved is a credit to him. Very happy, thank you.
